How Does Elite Ratings Top-2 Rated Dominance Affect Multi Betting?

Firstly it was great to have a nice Elite-Combo win on Saturday. From four races, Rue De Royale did the job at nicely $6.00 along with Terilee at short odds. +5.42% bank gain.

Elite Melbourne Ratings Top-2 Ratings Accuracy

Elite Ratings Melbourne Top-Raters and Second-Top raters are winning at well above industry norms with way beyond industry average odds.

Any good rating service should find the winner in the top-2 rated selections about 38% of the time.
Of course most services don’t bother to keep records, for good reason, so you would assume they are way below the 38% threshold.
Others that we have monitored do get close to 38% top-2 winners but at very low average winning odds (around $3.50).

This season, Elite Ratings Melbourne have rated a total of 264 races.
The performance of the top-2 looks like this (allowing for 9 late scratchings):

Elite Mel Top-2 Rated 2025-2026 season so far.

Top-Rated:
75 won from 260 bets @ $4.14 for a level $100 bet profit of $5,035.

2nd Rated:
52 won from 258 bets @ $5.23 for a level $100 bet profit of $1,385.

That’s 127 winners from the 264 races = 48% winners in the top-2 @ $4.59.

Elite Mel Top-2 Rated this year, 2026 so far.

Top-Rated:
32 won from 101 bets. 31.7% winners @ $4.11 for a level $100 bet profit of $3,045.

2nd Rated:
21 won from 100 bets. 21.0% winners @ 5.75 for a level $100 bet profit of $2,075.

That’s 53 winners from the 101 races = 52% winners in the top-2 @ $4.76.

These are amazing numbers over 260 races.
Getting the winner in the top-2 at 50% is unheard of, especially considering the average odds of more than $4.50.

BUT we do not have a dedicated Top-2 strategy. Sure, many of the winners get through to the main plans but many don’t.

One strategy we do have in place that snares those top-2 rated winners is our Elite Multi-Bets. That’s using our recommended strategy which is included on every race-day message.

That strategy recommends taking three horses to win.
So, were thinking, if the top-2 are getting the winner in half the races, what is the third rater contributing?

Elite Mel THIRD Rated this year, 2026 so far.

10 winners from 99 bets! That’s just 10.1% winners. Level stakes LOSS of $3,760.

Elite Melbourne’s continued surge in Top-2 accuracy is making the third rater virtually redundant.
